BAUER COMPRESSORS INC. is currently seeking a full-time Quality Control Technician to provide duties required throughout the manufacturing and testing processes under the guidance of the Quality Control Lead

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Includes the following, but other duties may be assigned.

  • Inspects products prior to testing to ensure the product meets the customer requirements. Notifies other departments that the product is entering the testing phase and coordinates the initiation of special requirements required by the sales order document.
  • Assists the assembly department lead in determining disposition of defective components
  • Assists the creation of workmanship standards
  • Performs setting/calibration procedures on relief valves and pressure gauges.
  • Inputs, updates, and maintains Quality Assurance data in the Quality Assurance databases
  • Analyzes, evaluates, and presents information concerning factors such as production capabilities and manufacturing problems
  • Assists in updating and maintaining the Quality Assurance System to current ISO 9001 requirements per the company Quality Assurance Manual.
  • Suggests and debates alternative methods and procedures in solving problems and meeting changing market opportunities
  • Cooperates with key personnel in formulating and establishing company Quality Assurance policies and operating procedures
  • Reviews technical problems and procedures of departments and recommends solutions to problems or changes in procedures.
  • Confers with engineers about quality assurance of new products designed and manufactured products on market to rectify problems.
  • Reviews technical publications, articles, and abstracts to stay abreast of technical developments in industry.

Qualifications:

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 5 years experience in assembly/testing of electromechanical products. Ability to interpret wiring/tubing/structural drawings/specifications.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Work Environment:

Normal hours are from 7:00am to 3:30pm Monday thru Friday, with some overtime required. Smoking is allowed in some designated areas. The noise levels in some manufacturing facilities frequently may exceed the normal dba.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee may be required to wear safety glasses, hearing protection, a respirator, and/or a dust mask depending upon the nature of the work performed.
